About Us
The Magnet Cove Choir program offers an enriching musical initiative, that fosters a love for singing and performance among students. Spanning grades 6-12, the program offers a diverse range of choral experiences, from learning fundamental vocal techniques to participating in advanced ensembles. Students have opportunities to perform in various concerts and competitions, showcasing their talents and growth.
Vocal Music (Choir) is currently offered to students in grades 6 through 12 and is broken into 3 performing ensembles.
The 6th graders begin in the 6th grade choir class. This class focuses on introducing choir students to basic music skills such as rhythm and notation, developing proper vocal and singing technique, the fundamentals of ensemble singing, and allowing students to develop their love of music.
The junior choir is our 7th and 8th grade choir class. These students continue to focus on musicianship skills and develop a greater understanding of rhythm and notation, continued development of vocal techniques, and greater understanding of ensemble singing. This choir feeds young singers into the high school choir.
The high school choir is for students in grades 9 through 12. These students demonstrate a high proficiency in vocal technique. These students have higher understanding of rhythm, notation, and are encouraged to develop both ensemble singing and solo singing skills. This choir showcases these skills throughout the year by competing and contests and festivals throughout the year at the region and state levels.
