Act 237 of 2023, LEARNS Act Community Service

Beginning with the graduating class of 2026-2027, a public high school student shall complete a minimum of seventy-five (75) clock hours of documented community service in grades nine through twelve (9-12), as certified by the service agency or organization with which the public school student volunteers, in order to graduate.

There is no yearly requirement of hours that has to be met, but students are encouraged to start working on their hours in 9th grade and make

progress each year toward their total 75 required hours of community service.

How will I know how many hours my child has?

1. Students can monitor their hours through the mobileserve app
2. Hours will be reported, along with grades, at the end of each nine weeks
3. A yearly review of hours will be included as part of the Spring CAP process.
